Terms of Use
The terms for using Gulfdeck
Plain-English terms between you and OROSI IX MARINE LIMITED (OML), which runs Gulfdeck. Last updated 6 November 2026.
1. Who we are
Gulfdeck is an online service run by OROSI IX MARINE LIMITED (“OML”, “we”, “us”), 17c Trans Amadi Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. It helps shipping companies manage purchasing, vessels, compliance and crew; helps seafarers find work; and lets vessel operators request crew from Gulfdeck.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Gulfdeck you agree to these terms and to our Privacy notice. If you use Gulfdeck for a company, you confirm that you may agree to these terms for it, and “you” includes that company.
3. Your account
- Give true, current details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private and do not share your account. You are responsible for what is done with it. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- Company administrators decide who joins their company’s workspace and what each person may do, and are responsible for removing people who leave.
4. Using Gulfdeck fairly
You must not:
- upload false, altered or someone else’s documents, or give false information about qualifications, sea service, companies or vessels;
- use the service for anything unlawful, including fraud, or to harass or discriminate against anyone;
- try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, test or break our security, or overload the service;
- copy seafarers’ or companies’ details out of Gulfdeck for any purpose other than the hiring or business dealings the service is for.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and report suspected fraud to the authorities.
5. Companies and your records
- The records your company enters (vessels, crew, suppliers, orders, accounts) belong to your company. We keep them, protect them and use them only to provide the service.
- You are responsible for what your company enters, and for having the right to enter personal details about your staff and crew.
- Gulfdeck helps you track certificates, approvals and payments, but your company remains responsible for its legal, safety and financial decisions and for checking important information.
6. Seafarers
- Your profile is shown to companies only after you agree to be listed and the registration fee (if any) is paid.
- OML staff check documents by looking at them. “Checked” means a person at OML has seen the document; it is not a guarantee from any government body.
- Companies make their own hiring decisions. We cannot promise that you will be offered work.
- You can delete your profile from your account at any time, as explained in the Privacy notice.
7. Crew supplied by Gulfdeck
An “I need crew” request is an enquiry, not a contract. When Gulfdeck agrees to supply crew to your vessel, a separate written agreement sets out the rates, the terms of the crew’s engagement and each side’s responsibilities. That agreement takes priority over these terms for the crew supply.
8. Marketplace
- Suppliers sell to vessel operators on the marketplace. A sale is a contract between the buyer and the supplier; OML is not a party to it.
- OML checks a supplier before approving it, but does not guarantee the goods or services. The supplier is responsible for what it sells, its quality and its delivery.
- Buyers pay through Paystack, straight to the supplier’s bank account. OML does not hold the money and takes no commission; Paystack’s charges are deducted from what the supplier receives.
- Refunds and disputes are between the buyer and the supplier. Tell OML if you cannot settle one; we can suspend a supplier from the marketplace.
9. Fees and payment
- Current prices are on our pricing page. Companies pay the subscription when they sign up and at the start of each period; the workspace opens once it is paid. Usage fees (for example per crew profile or purchase order) are added as they arise and appear on a monthly invoice.
- If a subscription is not renewed, the company’s workspace closes until it is paid. Nothing is deleted.
- If we charge you by mistake, we correct it with a credit note. Fees already paid are otherwise not refunded, unless the law requires it.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice on the website or by email before a price rise applies to you.
10. Keeping the service running
We work to keep Gulfdeck available and your records safe, with regular backups. The service may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or because of problems with internet or hosting providers. We will try to tell you about planned work in advance.
11. Ending your use
You may stop using Gulfdeck at any time; contact us to close a company account. We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms or for unpaid fees, telling you why where we can. When an account is closed, people lose access, but records we must keep by law (for example payment and accounting records) are kept for as long as the law requires.
12. Responsibility
- We are responsible for providing Gulfdeck with reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably foresee, for loss of profit or business, or for decisions you make using information in Gulfdeck.
- Except where the law does not allow a limit, our total responsibility to a company in any year is limited to the fees it paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.
- Nothing in these terms limits responsibility for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page and tell account holders by email about important changes before they apply.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If a disagreement arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If we cannot, the courts of Nigeria will decide it.
